About These Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Property Compass platform operated by Property-Compass Ltd (Company No. 16556969, VAT No. GB 517 7995 39, ICO No. ZC109988), registered in England and Wales ("we", "us", "our"). Registered office: Ashgrove House, Dobells Road, Northwich, CW9 8DT.
By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Account Registration
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials
- One account per person — sharing accounts is not permitted
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
Subscription and Billing
- Property Compass offers Free and Member subscription tiers. A Pro tier is planned and is not currently available for purchase
- All Member prices are inclusive of 20% UK VAT. Property-Compass Ltd is VAT-registered with HMRC under VRN GB 517 7995 39, effective 27 April 2026. The VAT portion of each payment is itemised on the invoice issued by Stripe at checkout
- Member subscriptions are billed by Stripe on either a monthly or annual cycle
- Monthly — £30/month inc. VAT (£25 net + £5 VAT), billed every month
- Annual — £300/year inc. VAT (£250 net + £50 VAT), billed every 12 months (equivalent to £25/month inc. VAT — saves £60 compared to paying monthly)
- You can upgrade between monthly and annual, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or via the Stripe Customer Portal
Trial, Cancellation and Refunds
- 14-day free trial. All new Member subscriptions begin with a 14-day free trial. You enter your card details at signup so that your subscription continues seamlessly at the end of the trial — but we do not charge anything during the trial. We email you 3 days before the trial ends and again the day before, so you always know what's coming
- Cancel during the trial: no charge. You can cancel at any point during the 14-day trial via the Stripe Customer Portal (linked from your account settings). If you cancel during the trial, your subscription ends on day 14 and you are never charged. Your access drops to the free tier at the trial end date
- After the trial. On day 15 we charge the plan you chose at signup (£30 inc. VAT for monthly, £300 inc. VAT for annual) and your full Member access continues
- Cancellation after the trial. You can cancel at any time from your account settings or via the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until that date and are not charged again. For annual plans, this means access continues until the end of the 12-month term you have already paid for. We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial periods
- Plan switching. Switching from monthly to annual mid-period: Stripe applies a credit for unused monthly time toward the new annual invoice — no separate refund is issued
- Statutory cancellation right. The 14-day free trial satisfies the cooling-off period under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Because the trial provides 14 days of full access at no cost, you have the full statutory window to evaluate the service before any payment is taken
Promo Keys
- During our soft-launch period, access may require a promo key
- Promo keys grant a specific subscription tier for a defined duration
- Promo keys are non-transferable and may have usage limits
Community Standards
Members are expected to:
- Act professionally and treat other members with respect
- Share information honestly and in good faith
- Not post spam, misleading content, or unsolicited advertising
- Not share confidential deal information without permission
- Report inappropriate content or behaviour
We reserve the right to moderate content and remove or suspend members who violate these standards.
Intellectual Property
- The Property Compass platform, including its design, code, calculators, and data visualisations, is owned by Property-Compass Ltd
- Market data is sourced from UK government open data under the Open Government Licence
- Content you post (forum threads, feed posts, comments) remains yours, but you grant us a licence to display it on the platform
- You may not scrape, copy, or redistribute platform content without permission
Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
- Content on Property Compass is for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, legal, or tax advice
- Calculator outputs are estimates based on the inputs you provide — always verify with a qualified professional before making investment decisions
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of market data, although we update it weekly from official sources
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Property-Compass Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform
- Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury, or fraud
Availability
- We aim to keep the platform available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted access
- We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect availability
- We are not liable for losses caused by downtime or service interruptions
Account Termination
- You can delete your account at any time by contacting hello@propertycompass.co.uk
- Upon deletion, your personal data will be anonymised within 30 days (see our Privacy Policy)
- We may terminate or suspend your account immediately if you breach these terms
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
